How-to guidesAdd a link

Add a link

Use this guide to set where a link goes. Select an <a> element (or an <area> in an image map) first.

  1. Open the Props tab and expand Links → Link.
  2. Choose the destination type:
    • page — type the path, for example /about.html.
    • # — pick an element on this page by its id. The element needs an id; set one with ID & class on that element.
    • url — type the full address, starting with https://.
    • @ — type the email address and, optionally, a subject.
    • tel — type the phone number.
    • file — type the file path. The link downloads the file; type a name in download to rename it.
  3. To open the link in a new tab, set target to _blank and turn on noopener under rel.

Common variations

  • Sponsored or user-generated links. Turn on sponsored or ugc under rel.
  • Several links at once. Select them all; the change applies to each.

Troubleshooting

  • “No element with this id” under the picker. The id you typed doesn’t exist on the page.
  • Element checks shows “This link has no text or label.” Add text inside the link, or set aria-label under Accessibility (ARIA) → Labeling.
